Biography

Li Shanshan, MD, Attending Physician, has been engaged in clinical, research, and teaching work at the Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences since obtaining her PhD in 2013. Since 2017, she has served as a member of the Limb Plastic Surgery Group, Plastic Surgery Branch, Chinese Medical Association. She has undertaken one project of the Peking Union Medical College Youth Fund Young Teacher Training Program. She has won the Second Prize for Excellent Paper at the 11th “Song Ruyao” Plastic Surgery Young Physicians Forum and the Second Prize for Excellent Paper at the 3rd “Hengli Cup” Young Physicians Forum of the Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Society. As first author, she has published 3 SCI-indexed papers and 5 papers in core journals. In 2021, she served as a technical backbone to support primary-level hospitals, carrying out plastic surgery-related work for 1 year with outstanding achievements.
Dr. Li Shanshan’s clinical work is mainly divided into two parts. Reconstructive surgery: she is skilled in the treatment of congenital melanocytic nevi of various sizes, surgical treatment of periocular and perioral pigmented nevi, and application of expanded flap technique to treat large-area melanocytic nevi; diagnosis and treatment of various scars, refined treatment of facial scars, use of flap transfer technique to repair limb deformities caused by scar contracture, and comprehensive treatment of keloids. Aesthetic plastic surgery: various female intimate surgeries, including comprehensive plastic surgery of the labia minora and clitoral hood, vaginal tightening surgery with preservation of vaginal mucosa and perineal body reconstruction, minimally invasive vaginal tightening surgery, labia majora augmentation, and hymenoplasty; periocular plastic surgery, including double eyelid surgery (incision method, three-point mini-incision method, and suture embedding method), medial canthoplasty, lower blepharoplasty (transconjunctival incision and skin incision), orbital septum fat release to fill tear troughs, and brow lift (with simultaneous removal of upper eyelid orbital septum fat).

1. Comprehensive treatment of scars and keloids: application of skin expansion, flap surgery, and microsurgery techniques to repair large-area scars; application of tension-reducing fine suture techniques and sequential scar prevention measures for refined repair of hypertrophic scars and keloids;

Treatment of congenital pigmentary diseases and body surface masses: proficient in treating pigmented nevi and masses of different sizes and locations, especially lesions around the mouth, nose, and eyes; skilled in using skin expansion technique to treat large-area congenital melanocytic nevi and other diseases.
3. Female intimate surgery: application of techniques and concepts such as fine suturing and flap transfer to female vulvar plastic surgery; comprehensive periocular aesthetic surgery.
